On January 24, in celebration of W. A. Mozart's 250th anniversary year, Oxingale Records presents Mozart the Mason. Released just 3 days before the composer's January 27th birth date, this tribute includes arresting performances of one of Mozart's most important chamber works, the seldom heard Divertimento for String Trio, K 563, as well as three pieces from Mozart's Preludes and Fugues K 404a - original preludes written to fugues that Mozart transcribed from J. S. Bach's Well Tempered Clavier.

In this new collaboration between McGill University's distinguished violin, viola and cello professors, three of North America's leading musicians explore the musical expression of Mozart's Freemasonry. A trailblazer in his day, Mozart went up against the forces of politics and religion to communicate deeply-held values through his art.
